Abbe Refractometer
With an Abbe refractometer it is possible to perform some valuable optical measurements
Within this kind of measurements we can find the refraction index, the percentage of solid content or the dispersion mean value in liquids and transparent and translucent solids.
The instrument is formed by two prisms, between which the sample is placed, and it directly gives the refraction index of the sample. We have in our lab an AR 2008 refractometer, from the company Krüss, which allows performing measurements between 0 snd 70 ºC. The 589 nm light is supplied by a LED.
